From "Ouch! That Hurts!" to "Wow! I Feel Good!"

Pain and pleasure. A simple concept of survival for us human beings. The saying goes, "We do more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure." Need motivation? Than this principle is key to achieving it. Sometimes though we get held back by the comfort of our surroundings. Which causes us to not take a step toward the direction we need to go in life. Sometime fear holds us back and keeps us still.

So how do we get over a hurdle where fear runs our minds. In essence it's the pain of moving forward that scares us most. It's the fear of the unknown. It's the fear of risking the comfortable for the uncomfortable. And how does that saying go again? "We do more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure." So what do we do?

If we're looking at the unknown of the future and seeing it as painful as drowning in an ocean, then we have to switch that association up. We need to look at this ocean as something other than a massive ocean of fear. we need to realize that fear is a natural state and that everyone has it. But it's overrated! Fear keeps us standing still. We have to look at the ocean and say, "If I don't swim out there I'll be missing out on something grand!" We have to see that the inaction causes more pain than not moving forward.

Pain and pleasure is a principle of all human kind. To effectively move from inaction to action, the pain of the inaction must be greater than the pain of moving into the unknown. From that point of view we can become more comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Tony Robbins once said, "The quality of your life is determined by the amount of uncertainty one can comfortably live with."

Discovering Spirit And Sound

Healing Touch - Claircognizance - How We Know What We Know to Be True

Inner knowing is a skill that involves recognizing how we know things not in ordinary ways. The psychological term for this is claircognizance. However, we might recognize it from the many scriptural stories as "inner knowing." It is when we receive thoughts, ideas, and concepts that we didn't learn about in ordinary ways. Upon reflection, we may even recognize these as coming from God. This inner knowing may take the form of revelations or insights or inspirations that clearly we did not have before we received them. We may never have studied or been taught how to do something and suddenly we are doing it.

Jesus Had Inner Knowing

Jesus is often depicted receiving such inner knowing. He knew when his time had come to move into his ministry. He knew when it was time to move on to the next town or when to go up to Jerusalem. He even knew when the end was near and that he would be betrayed by one of his closest allies. Jesus knew how to heal yet we see no evidence that he was ever trained in any particular skills. He simply knew what to do-how to respond to each person uniquely. Often he would go off alone to pray and later he would know what lay before him. He had listened and received inner knowing from the Father.

The biggest downfall of those who receive inner knowing-is trusting their inner knowledge. To improve or develop these skills, it is important that you take good care of yourself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. In other words, you need a balanced life. When we come into balance and take good care of our physical vehicle, we will find that our inner knowing is strengthened.

Next, we need to clear our minds. Judgments, anxieties and fears tend to clog our inner knowing. When your mind is clear, it is more receptive to divine guidance. We all receive divine guidance through inner knowing even if we think we don't. It is this inner knowing that brings us to align our will and purpose to God. The Kingdom

There's a new movie out called "The Kingdom."

There was another one out not long ago entitled, "The Kingdom of God."

I am amazed how often God uses the stuff of earth as a reminder of His concerns.
He's often done this in the past as well. Start noticing. Maybe you've heard
many more teachings, as I have lately, pertaining to His Kingdom.

I was quite surprised when, not too long ago, an older Christian man asked me,
in all seriousness, to explain to him The Kingdom of God.

That subject was made so crystal clear to me several years ago - even though
I'd been in ministry for years. At that moment, it was like a blind man's eyes
being suddenly opened. BLING! Maybe I'm a bit slower than everyone else but,
instantly, it all made sense. These days, it's a favorite subject of mine. Perhaps
you will benefit from this simple explanation as well.

The word "Kingdom" comes from the Greek "basilea." It has nothing to do
with a place one can see, like the State Capital building, for example, for Jesus
said, "The Kingdom does not come with observation." He added,"nor will
people say, `Here it is,' or `There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within
you," (Luke 17:20-21). The word literally refers to the King's dominion. That
dominion goes wherever the King goes. His dominion is within YOU for
Romans 8;11 tell us that "the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead
dwells within you." As a result, where YOU go, so goes The Kingdom.

Believe it or not.

Jesus went about declaring the Gospel of the Kingdom. "Repent! For the
Kingdom of God is at hand!"He said. He told His disciples, "As you go, preach,
saying, 'The Kingdom of God is at hand!"(Matt 10:7). The Kingdom of God will
still "play in Peoria." It amounts to five simple things:

1) There is a King

2) He has a Kingdom

3) He wants you within it

4) He wants to care for you there

5) He wants to work WITH you and THROUGH you to bring others into that Kingdom.

Simple, eh?

SPIRITUAL SONSHIP

We hear alot about "sonship" these days. How is this "sonship" manifested
in the Kingdom of God?

It's manifested through servanthood. (Matthew 20.28; John 13.13-17) - through
obedience - and by exercising our God-given authority over "the rulers, the
authorities, the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the
heavenly realms," (Ephesians 6.12).

Our sonship is to glorify ONLY our Father in such a way that unbelievers will
see our obedience and commitment to God to such a degree that they will glorify
Him, (Matthew 5.16). We are to make people jealous for what we've found in Jesus.

Is that happening?

THE PURPOSE-DRIVEN KINGDOM

The purpose of the Kingdom of God is for its citizens to do God's will on earth
as His will is done in Heaven. "Thy Kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven," (Matt 6:10). Think of earth as a mirror of that which is going
on in the heavenlies. It became easier for me to do this when I remembered that
the moon glows only because of the son's reflection off the blue planet, earth.
Excuse me...that should read "the SUN's reflection." As I'm prone to saying,
as it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.

Yes, there is a spiritual counterpart for everything that we observe with our eyes;
by way of example, wars and fatherless children come readily to mind. As you grow
keen to this, you will see these parallels everywhere you look.

The Kingdom of God influences the world and the society in which the citizens of
the Kingdom reside. Jesus referred to us as "Salt and Light," after all, (Matt 5:13-16).
Salt heals, purifies, seasons, and is worthless when it loses its flavor. Light brings
exemplifies a new day, a promise of warmth and providence, clarity, hope and an
absence of darkness.

We influence society through our lifestyle and by manifesting the Light of Christ in
our hearts through our values and decision making. We cry out against injustice,
and bear witness to Jesus Christ as the only way to reconciliation with God, realizing
that the ONLY solution we offer to injustice and sin is this: Reconciliation with God
through Jesus Christ. We are witnesses of what we've experienced through our
relationship with God through Christ. Our witness is revealed through our Character
as well as our Testimony, i.e., we cannot experience Jesus without being changed.
Galatians 5:22 reminds us that there will be "fruit" from having Christ resident within
us. Our witness cannot be divided; we cannot talk it without walking it. We will find
ourselves making disciples as others will WANT to follow our example and learn
from us.

SPIRITUAL vs MATERIAL STUFF

As citizens of the Kingdom of God, what is our relationship to material
possessions, personal talents, and our relationships? Simply put, we are stewards,
not owners. We are so often bogged down with so much earthly "stuff" that we
limit ourselves to true Kingdom availability. Don't get me wrong; it's no sin to
have stuff. Too often, however, our stuff has us.

Far too often, we are downright handicapped by it.

KINGDOM of GOD vs KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

In the Gospel of John, the concepts of the Kingdom of God on earth are
referred to as "eternal life." In most of the Gospel of Matthew, the author
refers to the Kingdom of God as the Kingdom of Heaven, out of respect to
the Jewish reverence for God's Name. He was being all things to all people in
an effort to win some. In Paul's writing he frequently refers to Kingdom Life
as being "in Christ."

It's all the same.

A simplified definition of the Kingdom of God might be: the rule of God in the
hearts and lives of those who have been born of His Spirit.

How's that?

WHO CAN BE A CITIZEN OF THE KINGDOM?

What Jesus presented about the Kingdom, different from man's religious
understanding of the Kingdom up to His time, was that The Kingdom was
available to "whosoever will." This included the Gentiles and the poor. They
entered its gates, not by their own efforts, but by placing total faith in God's
provision - the Bloody sacrifice of Christ. They would fulfill its purposes
ONLY through life in the Spirit and by following the Spirit (following Jesus'
example) in all things.

Many Christians take issue with any insistence that discipleship and
Kingdom citizenship demands total, exclusive loyalty to King Jesus. Others will
argue that this precludes any political activity on the behalf of Kingdom Kids
(I'm reminded of 1 Samuel 8 when the Israelites demanded a king when they
ALREADY had one in Almighty God). Can we seek political solutions to life's
problem that we face as believers? Sure, we can. But when we have the Power
and Presence of God resident within us, why would we not simply trust in
that truth? Selah. After all, there are no natural answers to spiritual problems.

Are we REALLY "salt and light"in our communities? Are we thermostats or
thermometers, setting the temperatures of our environments or merely reacting
to what's already been set by others in our midst? If that's the case, who is
influencing whom? The Christian social action program comes about through:

1) moral lifestyles in relationship with God

2) personal assistance of the poor and oppressed

3) prophetic resistance to societal ills (sin)

4) making disciples

POINTS TO PONDER

This is an interesting thought: The People of God (in the Old Testament) never
included ALL or ONLY the Israelites. Have you noticed? Look at Jesus'
genealogy and see how many Gentiles (non-Jews) are included. Also, see
how many Jews the Pharisees excluded from the Kingdom: the poor, the sick,
the debtors, etc. In fact, if you were one of them, or suffered natural disaster
and lost your crops one year, you were considered cursed according to
Deuteronomy 28. How contrary to what Jesus taught. How they must have
hated Him!

The first Church (ekklesia) of Jesus Christ was founded with 3,000 Jewish
members. It was not until Acts 10 that the Holy Spirit was poured out upon
Gentile believers. I always found it interesting that Lydia (Acts 16) was
perceived as "a worshiper of God" by Paul (Which god, by the way?). So, the Church
(the People of God) is clearly the representation of the presence of the
Kingdom of God on earth, through the immanent Presence of God by the
Holy Spirit who guides into all truth and corrects us in our Doctrine and
thinking.

When the Kingdom of God is active in the heart of a Believer, the will of
God is done on earth BY that Believer. Remember the Lord's Prayer (the
"Our Father")? (Matthew 6:10).

When the Kingdom of God is the source of our citizenship and loyalty, we
will follow after peace, do Justice and love mercy, walking humbly before
our King.

When we do the work of the Kingdom, we will help the poor, helpless, sick
and disenfranchised. Not through a representative human government,
but with our own hands and resources.

When we realize that we are part of a victorious Kingdom on earth, we will
be about our Father's business.

In the Upside-Down Kingdom of God, you have to lose your life to find it.
You must give to receive. You must give all in order to find treasure. You
must be meek in order to be strong. And the last will be first.

There is no contest between the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of
Light. Jesus already won the battle and the war. It is our job to take back the
territory which the devil has been holding and gaining by deception and fraud.

WE must advance the Kingdom and we've been given everything we would
ever need in order to accomplish the mission through the Holy Spirit within us.

Every blessing,
Michael Tummillo

Hair Pulling Habit - Embarrassment No More!

A hair pulling habit is specifically where an individual frequently pulls their own hair, or the hair of others. This can include objects as well, such as carpet. This hair pulling habit is known as trichotillomania.

This hair pulling habit was only officially determined to be a condition in the late 1980's. Though the condition did exist prior to that it was basically an unknown. The hair pulling habit can known as trichotillomania is believed to be an anxiety related condition. As of right now however, very little is actually known about the cause of this condition.

Trichotillomania therapy does exist. Unfortunately a trichotillomania cure has not yet been developed and some believe no possible cure could be developed. This generally leads to varying degrees of bald spots in people who suffer from this disorder.

It also will generally lead to anti social behavior due to embarrassment over the affects of the condition and the act of hair pulling out. Most conventional wisdom is that this hair pulling disease is a type of nervous habit brought on by anxiety.

For those who do suffer from this hair pulling habit there are two forms of trichotillomania therapy which do exist. The most prevalent method which is used to treat the habit is known as habit reversal therapy which aims to determine what circumstances lead to this habit and create non destructive methods of coping with these situations.

Another method which has been gaining some popularity in the United States and Europe is known as hypnotherapy which aims to remove the habit through the use of hypnosis. Both of these methods have proven to be highly successful under the right conditions.

For patients suffering from this hair pulling habit and undergo habit reversal therapy a large degree of work is required on their part. For those who utilize hypnotherapy a high level of patience must be exercised by the therapist.

Drugs Available For Help

Certain drugs have also shown varying degrees of success in overcoming the hair pulling habit. Drugs such as Fluoxetine (Prozac) or Fluvoxamine (Luvox) have been used to treat this OCD hair pulling. Unfortunately success with these drugs was varied widely.

Some researchers suspect that there is little or no link between trichotillomania and depression which could explain the lack of consistent results when using antidepressants to treat the hair pulling habit. On the other hand a larger degree of studies have indicated successfully using these drugs in conjunction with habit reversal therapy for a faster and easier solution.

Discover how you can join over 432 trichotillomania ex-sufferers who have already ended their years of pulling hair disorder, and had completely stop pulling hair using an easy 3 step therapy treatment system.

Career Change - 4 Steps to Maintaining a Winning Attitude on Your Job

Your attitude is the way you feel about yourself, the way you look at the world, the way you show your mood to others, it's like a pair of glasses. It can make everything you see look sharper, more attractive or fuzzy, small, and unimportant.

Simply having a winning attitude won't keep you from ever having hard times, disappointments, or problems. But maintaining a positive attitude most of the time makes life easier and more rewarding.

1. Look at the facts. Don't ignore the negatives, but put the accent on the favorable ones.

2. Talk things over, with yourself and with others who can help. Putting thoughts and feelings into words helps make them much clearer. Checking with a neutral party can help determine if its' a problem you need you need to do something about by talking to someone or a problem that's your problem alone.

3. Think about your options. In every situation, there's always more than just one choice.

Choosing the one that benefits you makes it more likely you will be successful in the future.

4. Decide on the best approach for reaching your goal or solving your problem. Then do it! You won't always succeed at everything you try, but you can't win unless you play the game!

A positive attitude helps to make you a winner at home. It means having better relationships, higher energy levels, and greater problem-solving ability. A good attitude makes work more satisfying because you get more done when you have clear goals and believe in your own abilities to reach them. You become a valued co-worker and team member. People like being around you and want to cooperate with you. The day goes faster when you make the best of it instead of looking for faults, problems and obstacles.

Will a good attitude solve all your problems and make you rich, famous, good-looking and happy? No. But it's a good starting place.

Back Pain Motivation Part 2

With not just back pain, the actual mechanisms that make yoga so powerful are still being studied by the medical community, with more than 900 research papers listed by pubmed.org (a Service of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institute of health). Traditional yoga texts teach that Hatha yoga provides its health benefits for the body and mind primarily through the combination of breathing (Pranayama), physical postures (asana) and meditation.

Bones and thighs are mainly occupied by Vata. Vata controls and directs the body movements. Back pain occurs when vata in this region gets aggravated due to unwise physical activities (mithya yoga of karma), exaggerated physical activities (Ati yoga of karma) or less physical activities (hina yoga of karma).

ARTHRITIS Motivational System. With daily exercise for the special needs of people who wish to exercise daily for back pain relief and ease of movement. AQUA YOGA The density and resistance of water provide an ideal environment for relieving the mental and physical stress of everyday life. This well-rounded class is especially helpful for anyone wishing an active, motivational system of exercise supported by water buoyancy.

"Yoga is also very special in the way it helps to improve energy levels throughout the practice. A yoga practice should work your body and fitness, but at the same time a well-designed yoga practice should boost your energy levels so that you actually feel better and more refreshed after yoga practice where other types or physical exercise leave you fatigued.

Why are doctors referring their patients, who have chronic back pain, to Yoga classes? How many studies have been conducted on back pain and Yoga? Is Yoga a "cure all" for back pain? What kind of Yoga class is best for back pain?

"Yoga has been developed over many hundreds of years and is very closely bound to Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medical philosophies called. In the simplest terms Ayurveda has 2 key concepts of Prana or life force and Nadis or energy channels. Yoga is about learning to control Prana and clear Nadis for improved health.

YOGA FOR MS Body awareness, breathing, stretching and relaxation techniques are combined in every class. Floor and chair classes may be offered to help all levels of ability. Any body can do yoga, whether in a wheelchair or not, one is only limited by ones imagination.

Get Mental - The Psychology of Strength

True strength comes from within.

Weve all heard similar sayings. Most successful athletes know that their mentality plays a strong role in their performance. Many recreational athletes and trainees also realize on some level that their thoughts and moods affect their workouts. But very few actually dedicate sufficient time to their Mental Conditioning (to train their brain). The fact is that the mind (especially the subconscious mind) actually has INCREDIBLE power that many dont acknowledge. Our mind has the ability to make us stronger, more muscular, more athletic, more powerful, even wealthier and happier! Sound unbelievable? As this article will explain, your inner world creates your outer world.

The intention of this article is to share some of the basics of exercise and sport psychology and to illustrate the importance of our thoughts and emotions relative to our physical goals. I will also describe some simple techniques that you can use regularly to improve you performance. This information is directed to those readers who are already participating in a regular bodybuilding or strength training program and are motivated to achieve greater results.

The truth is that its our mind that determines what results we will achieve. The process goes something like this: Your thoughts and beliefs lead to your emotions, which in turn lead to your actions, which cause your results. Unfortunately, most of us put up our own psychological barriers that interfere with our performance and limit our success. The four-minute mile was a famous example of a psychological barrier. For years runners were apparently not able to run a mile in under four minutes, although many came close. That led to the common belief that this was physically impossible. Incredibly, within a year and a half after Roger Bannisters famous breakthrough, 16 other athletes accomplished it! It wasnt because these athletes were suddenly training harder. They were no longer limited by their beliefs once Bannister had demonstrated what was possible.

What Im saying is that with a bit of mental conditioning you can expect far superior results from your training, and in many cases its all thats holding you back.

The four basic principles of mental conditioning are as follows:

1.Set SMARTER Goals.

2.Create a strong, clear mental picture of these goals using Visualization and Imagery training.

3.Reinforce these ideas often using Affirmations.

4.Maintain a positive focus on your objectives and employ interventions such as negative thought-stopping techniques.

The field of exercise and sport psychology is significantly more involved than this, but these principles provide a great starting point for developing a mental training program.

Setting SMARTER Goals

Studies have shown that appropriate goal setting leads to performance enhancement, with moderate to strong effects. To remember the key principles of effective goal setting, think SMARTER; your goals should be:

Specific Indicate precisely what is to be done. Avoid vague alternatives
Measurable You should be able to quantify your goal
Action-Oriented develop concrete plan of actions required to move toward your goals
Realistic start with moderately difficult goals, rather than too easy or difficult to reach
Time-Constrained Set specific time limits for both short term and long term goals
Evaluated Record and monitor your progress regularly
Reversible In cases of injury, or failure to achieve a difficult goal, reset goals as needed

Take some time right now to write down your short term goals as well as your long term dream goals (the ones that may seem a long way off and harder to achieve). Writing your goals down is the basis of a contract with yourself. It also helps to publicly acknowledge your goals.

Short-term or daily goals are the most important because they provide a focus for our training in each and every session. Past research on elite athletes found that setting daily training goals was one factor that distinguished the successful performers from the less successful.

Many have also found it useful to write a Mission Statement for themselves, which summarizes their basic goals and primary objectives in their life.

Relaxation and Visualization

Scientific research has shown the use of Visualization (or Imagery) to be an important adjunct to physical training. This is why world-class, elite level athletes and coaches use imagery techniques regularly. In fact, past studies have demonstrated that athletes using visualization dramatically improved their performance by comparison with those who didnt.

With clear and vivid visualization training, certain parts of our brain can be stimulated to illicit small neuromuscular signals and specific hormonal changes that can lead to real physical changes in your body and your performance. In addition, we can reprogram our subconscious mind to develop stronger neural connections that will reinforce those positive thoughts and beliefs that empower us to achieve our goals.
For visualization / imagery training to be most effective you need to be in a relaxed state with as few distractions as possible. The following simple Progressive Relaxation exercise will help achieve this.

Progressive Relaxation:

1. Choose a quiet, relaxing place where you won't be interrupted.

2. Before you start, do a few gentle stretching exercises to relieve muscular tension.

3. Make yourself comfortable, either sitting or lying down. Close your eyes.

4. Start to breathe slowly and deeply, in a calm and effortless way.

5. Gently tense, and then relax, each part of your body, starting with your feet and working your way up to your face and head.

6. As you focus on each area, count backwards from 10 to 1, relaxing more deeply with each number. Think of warmth, heaviness and relaxation.

7. Push distracting thoughts to the back of your mind; imagine them floating away with each breath.

8. Don't try to relax; simply let go of the tension in your muscles & let them become relaxed on their own.

9. Let your mind go empty. Some people find it helpful to visualize a calm, peaceful place such as a garden or meadow.

10. Stay like this for about 15 to 20 minutes, and do your visualizations (see below). Then take some deep breaths and open your eyes, but stay sitting or lying for a few moments before you get up.

While you are in this relaxed state it is a perfect time to practice visualization training for a few minutes. This is an important part of your mental conditioning program. The key points to remember when practicing your creative visualization are as follows:

1. Your imagery should be as vivid and clear as possible.

2. Always visualize positive and controllable scenarios.

3. Try to imagine in real time: the visualization of an experience should last as long as the actual event (i.e.: 1 minute). Often we imagine events more quickly than we actually experience them. Model your imagery in real time.

4. Visualize both the process of achieving your goal, as well as the positive outcome.

Here are a few simple suggestions of visualizations you can do, to get you started:

See yourself getting up in the morning and being really excited about your goals. See yourself so excited you can't stay in bed any longer.

Mentally rehearse your training drills, picturing perfect performance in real time.

Imagine in vivid detail how much faster, stronger, more muscular, more powerful, more athletic you are becoming and how smoothly your body responds.

Visualize how successful you will be in competition or training.

Visualize your self as a warrior, with unlimited energy. See yourself as unbeatable.

Imagine that you have already achieved these goals you have. How does it feel? What do you see? What would you be hearing? Picture every detail as if its real.
Strength Affirmations & Negative Thought Stopping

The next step is to learn to actively stop any negative thoughts that arise and replace them with a positive affirmation. Affirmations are positive statements used to reinforce that which you want to achieve.

All of us have negative thoughts of some kind that creep into our minds and interfere with our goals, such as Im a hardgainer. I cant put on muscle; Ive tried before and failed, or That guy always beats me! Several methods exist to interrupt our worrisome or negative thought patterns before they spiral out of control. These methods can include visual, physical, or verbal stimulus. One of my favorite techniques, which I have applied with several of my clients, is the Rubber Band Method. This simply involves wearing an ordinary thick rubber band around your wrist and upon noticing a negative thought enter your mind, snap the band on your arm and say the word Stop!

In order to reprogram your subconscious mind, once you have interrupted the distracting or disturbing thought process you must then replace it with a verbal affirmation. Here are the key principles as well as some examples to consider when creating your own affirmations:

1. Be personal - (Use I, me, my, or your first name)- I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INTENSITY OF MY PERFORMANCE.

2. Be positive (do not focus on what you dont want)- "I CONSISTENTLY STRIVE TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF MY POTENTIAL!"

3. Use the present tense and phrase the affirmation as if the goal was already accomplished- "I NOW HAVE A HEALTHY DIET THAT GIVES ME ALL THE STRENGTH AND ENERGY I REQUIRE.."

4. Change yourself not the other person -"I STAY FOCUSED ON MY GOALS AND I AM UNAFFECTED BY THE BEHAVIOR OF OTHERS."

5. Do not compare yourself with anyone -"I AM IN IDEAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CONDITION!" Avoid: "I am in better shape than Herman!"

6. Use action words, and keep it short, simple and powerful - "I TAKE CHARGE OF MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS WHENEVER I TRAIN OR COMPETE."

7. Be realistic, but stretch - "I HAVE THE ABILITY AND SELF-DISCIPLINE NEEDED TO CONSISTENTLY FINISH IN THE TOP THREE."

8. Personalize it and use feeling words (involve emotion) - "I LOVE THE FEELING I GET FROM COMPETING AT MY BEST!"

Some other examples of effective affirmations that you can use are listed below:

I respect, admire and model very successful elite athletes in my sport / activity!

I enjoy training intensely and my body recovers easily and quickly.

When I train, I train hard. When I rest, I relax deeply.

I create my reality and I create the exact amount of my success.

I am an excellent athlete! I have unlimited performance potential!

I am getting bigger and stronger every day.

I am grateful for all of my athletic successes so far.

I am grateful for my health, my strength, my speed, my power, and my abilities!

Try to make a list of your own personalized affirmations and read them aloud first thing in the morning and before sleeping in the evening, or at anytime you wish during the day. Create a feeling of belief in your affirmation statements; dont listen to your doubts. The more frequently you use them the more effective they will be. Psychologists estimate that it takes about a month to overwrite our old negative programming and establish a new positive pattern in your brain. Stick with it.

Your Daily Mental Conditioning Routine

To help you implement these techniques on a regular basis, I have organized them into a simple daily regimen that you can follow. Obviously you will include your regular activities as needed.

AM Hour of Power: Make an effort to get out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off. Also try to get as much natural sunlight as soon as you can each day; open the curtains and look outside. This will help to stimulate your RAS (Reticular Activating System) which will increase wakefulness. Take some deep breaths, choose one affirmation to say out loud, and visualize a positive outcome for the day to come. Rinse with cool water after your shower.

Positive Environment: During your day, try to avoid interacting or associating with negative, non-supportive people. Those who put you down, complain often or who view themselves as victims could hold you back from your success.

Rubber Band Method: If you feel a negative, non-supportive thought arising during the day, snap the elastic band on your wrist, and say Stop! Immediately after, rub your wrist gently and repeat an opposite, supportive affirmation to yourself.

Record Your Successes: At the end of each day, in the evening, write down 5 successes in your journal, regardless of how big or small they are. This could be anything from hitting a new P.R. or winning a contest, to something like brushing your teeth in the morning.

Visualizations and Affirmations: Repeat your list of affirmations out loud, then take some time to relax and visualize yourself having already achieved your goals and think of how great that makes you feel. Review your Mission Statement and your goals each day as well.

Conclusion:

Achievements are based not solely on talent and hard physical conditioning, but on mental strength and a clear vision of where you want to go. You need to decide what you want, know why you want it, and develop a strong desire to achieve it.

Once you have done this, to change your results you must overwrite old negative programming and install positive new programming into your subconscious. This is accomplished through techniques such as effective goal setting, positive self-talk (affirmations), and mental imagery (visualization). As you progress you will increase your belief that you will succeed. Because your beliefs shape your reality, you will be surprised at how quickly you achieve results that you thought impossible a few short months ago.

If you have any questions or comments I am interested in hearing from you.

Visualization And Affirmations

How to Use Money Affirmations For Successful Manifesting

Affirmations are an extremely effective manifesting technique. Affirmations create mental focus but they also help in altering your subconscious mind.

Let's say you would like to manifest 20, 000 dollars by this time next month you can begin to write out a list of affirmations that support that goal. You can write out on paper, "I now have $20,000." While that is the most often instructed thing to do it's not the most effective. Here is why.
Few people are able to believe that they are capable of making that sort of money. That immediate fear that you cannot do it creates a blog in your own mind and in your own personal energy. That block holds you back and out of the flow from manifesting that $20,000 goal.

The goal is not impossible but you are impossible

Your relentless desire to hold on to fear makes it impossible for you to manifest what you want. Fear is like a huge bolder. You can't go above it, you can't go around it, you surely can't go under it. All of this you experience even when your goal is an arm's length away from you.

Use Affirmations to Break the Fear Barrier

The moment you have a desire and begin to write out affirmations in support of that desire become aware of the fear bolder. It always comes, it happens for everyone. So it's wise to know that most effective way to use affirmations is to break down the fear bolder.

Make a list of the fears which enter your mind when you set a new goal

Write affirmations which dissolve those fears

When the fears are gone you are closer to manifesting your goals

The manifesting process looks something like this. Set your goal, recognize your fears, write affirmations to kill those fears, take action with power to towards your goals.

How Did You Choose Your Religion

A Dream Life Turned Hell

Jennifer Capriati was a genuine tennis champion and wonder-kid. At 13 years of age she became, for a short time, the youngest player to win the French Open junior title. Three weeks before her 14th birthday she turned professional--a young person with the world at her feet it seemed.

Sadly, the journey for Capriati was to turn sour with depression and crime well before she eventually fought back to claim the Women's World Number One Singles title briefly in 2001 having won the Australian and French Opens that year. She also successfully defended her Australian Open title in 2002.

Her 'comeback career' is amazing considering the feats she's managed. In her crowning moment, her third Grand Slam title, she saved four Championship points during the final--a world record for a player who eventually won the match. That demonstrates her spirit!

Unfortunately, she's not been as successful with life as she's been with her tennis. Quoted in a recent newspaper feature she lamented being trapped.

"I've only known one speed--100 miles per hour--and now I feel stuck in this place where I can't move."[1]

Jennifer Capriati reminds me of Michael Jackson. Both knew nothing of a normal childhood, and their talent was honed and milked as the world stood in awe of both these child prodigies.

It seems that life is harder to live than most think. Once the career of stardom is over, when then? Capriati continues:

"When I stopped playing, that's when all this came crumbling down. If I don't have [tennis], who am I? What am I? I was just alive because of this. I've had to ask, 'Well, who is Jennifer? What if this is gone now?' I can't live off of this the rest of my life."[2]

This poor child of a girl, still old enough to compete at thirty two, has no idea how to live life because without tennis she's a nobody--at least to herself.

It's reflecting on these things I feel extremely fortunate to have had a 'normal,' even banal life in comparison. For anyone who's felt sorry for themselves for not having reached the dizzy heights of their chosen sport or profession, they can take some solace at mediocrity in comparison to the Capriati example.

I pray she finds her feet sooner rather than later.

Why Are Unhappy People Unhappy?

Unhappy people are usually unhappy because they have not mastered the ability to be happy within themselves. Therefore, they may try and gain happiness/pleasure through others no matter what that entails. Don't get confused with my usage of unhappiness and then compare it to depression because they are two different things. This article is about unhappy people - not depressed people.

An unhappy person often uses others to get what they need out of life. At first this may work, but after a while the relationship begins to experience problems because their partner cannot tolerate the life getting literally sucked out of them. This kind of needy and spongy behavior is what the medical and psychiatric establishments like to call, "codependency".

There is nothing really wrong with these kinds of people, except for the fact they need to come out of their selfishness, grow up, be accountable and take responsibility for their own happiness. Unfortunately when certain establishments coin codependency as some life long emotional problem, people don't take responsibility for their behavior. For them it's always someone else's fault why they drink, why they look at porn, why they do drugs, why they have an anger management problem, why they feel like the whole world owes them a favor, and why they continue to live a bitter filled existence.

"Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself." -- Og Mandino

The problem begins when the unhappy person does not get all of their needs and desires met through someone else and believe they are unhappy because of the person they married. But in actuality nothing is further from the truth. Unhappy and bitter people have made an addiction for themselves - they have a compulsion to wallow in their misery. They are stuck inside of their discontent and bitter heart and can't get out, no matter how much they continue to use and abuse others for happiness.

The miserable person may even seem jovial to others on the outside - they go to work every day, take care of their families, and seem to have a normal life, but on the inside something is amiss with these unhappy, bitter folks. They often complain about others, and try and control any one they can to get their needs and desires met. But marriage, and any relationship for that matter, cannot stand up under such abuse and the marriage usually ends in divorce.

So, what can an unhappy person do to help themselves out of their misery? First off the unhappy person should realize that happiness does not grow on trees - you cannot get happiness through others. You are hurting so many people in the process of creating happiness for yourself and that is very wrong.

Happiness is found within the person you are - you master happiness for yourself, once you master the art of connecting with your Creator. If your connection is faulty so will be the person you can be - the whole and complete person you were created to become. Happiness is made through building up your spiritual connection with God. God gives us everything we need to sustain ourselves with. If you have made room in your heart for His wisdom, knowledge and love, then you will find happiness within.

Jesus said, "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you shall receive, and your JOY will be complete." (John 16:24 NIV)

Happiness is High Grades

Many students indeed encounter feelings of self-doubt and depression when they are unable to attain the grades they feel they must have to justify further academic degrees. This is to be expected and yet, the strong survive and if they cannot handle the schooling or subject matter then maybe they should not be there anyway. Thus, you can see that such a logical debate can play havoc on a student's mind.

Still, if a student is not receiving the grades they desire then maybe there is a problem that needs to be addressed. For instance, lack of balance, too much partying, poor study habits, failure to set study goals, or even the need for tutoring or a mentor to help them through? There is a lot of stress amongst college students to perform, when they don't they get depressed, feel inadequate and consider taking drastic measures.

Some students end up cheating on tests, plagiarizing their reports and term papers or much worse as the stress mounts. In fact, did you know suicide rates are over the top in our colleges and universities? It's true, the pressure is that real. Of course, the solution is higher grades, as that seems to bring with it higher self-esteem, confidence and a self-fulfilling strength.

There is no secret to getting higher grades, but it does make sense to employ strategies to improve note taking, studying, study goal setting and work on study habits. Still, the distractions are ever present and when students engage in this destructive behavior, excessive partying or drug use, often it is because of the stress that they are running away from rather than facing the challenge and rising to the occasion.

Thus, they get further and further behind and never reach that which they seek; Happiness. And Happiness in college is good grades, so please consider this.

Moralizing Your Own Happiness - Things to Consider

In the United States of America we have the right to pursue happiness and as long as our pursuits do not hurt another or jeopardize another's freedoms or break any of our laws we are allowed to pursue to our heart's delight. Unfortunately, too often people are interested in instant gratification almost to the point that they feel entitled to happiness no matter who is damaged in the process or whose rights are imposed upon.

How can people rationalize such things? Much of this is a philosophical thought on the moralizing of happiness. Too many people believe that if something brings them much joy, but only hurts other people a little bit that it's OK.But it's not OK if it is not fair for all concerned and that is not what the pursuit of happiness means. Just like no one should put judgment upon you for what you choose to be your happiness you should not impose on anyone else or cause them harm or damage in your efforts to seek happiness.

When I give speeches at colleges one of the things I refer to that the kids can understand is that it is not OK to ride your motorcycle or race bike down the freeway and 150 miles per hour because it brings you happiness. Because invariably when you drive that fast you spook the other cars and can cause accidents or if you run into someone else you could kill them.

So there is a limit to the pursuit of happiness and even if you moralize that you only impede on others a little bit but you did gain great joy and an adrenaline rush, well that does not make it OK. Likewise, just because you do something to create happiness that is against the law and you don't get caught does not make it OK.Just because you get away with something once does not mean you will again.

Perhaps, this should also be thought of in terms of drunk drivers who go to a party to have fun and drink too much. They are enjoying themselves and having fun, but if they get a car they are endangering the lives of others and that is not fair. I think we can all agree upon that.

Maybe you should think of some other scenarios in circumstances where this is also the case and use that to be your judge and guide when making decisions in rationalizing your happiness and how it affects the others around you. Please consider this.

5 Sure Fire Ways To Battle Insecurity

First we are pushed out from our mother's womb, then we are passed around from person to person like a hot potato. Next we are subjected to going to some strange place with other strange youngsters, while Mommy and Daddy go off to work. It just gets scarier after that. So, after years of having it stripped away from us, how do we hang on to a little security in an increasingly insecure world? Here are some ways that may offer a little inspiration:

1. Learn to enjoy your own company. If your blood pressure rises when you realize you are going to be home alone, you really need to experience more evenings by yourself. Think back to a time when you were at your happiest. What were you doing? Even if you were with a dear friend, that does not mean you cannot recreate the feeling you had. Watercolor, get a kid's coloring book and some crayons and get busy. Sing in your underwear, using the spatula as a microphone. Have fun, when no one is watching, and you will be more secure being yourself when you are with others.

2. Practice saying positive affirmations. First right them down. Here are a few examples:

I am confident in a state of not knowing.
The power of love allows me to trust my instincts above all.
My inspirational contribution is a unique gift to the Universe.
I am aware and open to all the spiritual healing life is bringing me.
Enlightenment is my birthright.
I am always connected to our inner source which provides me with constant divine guidance.

Many times insecurity has its roots in negative messages, which were fed to us when we were growing up. These are false messages. The uncluttered truth is you are a divine being. Practice writing and speaking affirmations that confirm this, and you will be much closer to the freedom that comes with living a fulfilling life.

3. Take a public Speaking Class. Public speaking is known to be one of people's greatest fears. If this is true for you, this is a great exercise to try. Join a club that allows you to get your feet wet speaking in front of an audience. The organization, Toastmasters, provides a wonderful venue where the members have the opportunity to present a speech. The audience offers three positive comments, and then one constructive comment. This a creative way to learn something new in a supportive atmosphere.

Once you have this experience under your belt, your comfort level with soar. You will be more secure conversing with others, whether you are at a work-related black tie event or meeting someone on a first date from your online service.

4. Give Compliments. When you give other compliments, you are complimenting yourself. Look at the people around you, and pick up the best qualities that they have to offer. Maybe they have a warm smile, or they have graceful movements, or perhaps they have exquisite taste in clothing. When you begin to take the focus off of yourself and turn your attention to othersB36, you will notice a dramatic rise in your comfort level. And when you start noticing more and more positive attributes in your fellow travelers, you will begin to notice more in yourself.

Be genuine. People love to be complimented, but they can tell when it is not sincere. There is no need to over do it, just express your thought in a light, off-handed way. They may be taken aback, and they will begin to look at you differently. When pure positive energy is exchanged in this way, amazing things will magically happen.

5. Write down your Goals. These could be work or personal. Start with one, and then move on to the next one. This should have nothing to do about the expectations of others. What are your dreams? Maybe you have spent your whole life in a job that you cannot stand. You have to know that it is never too late to change careers. You owe it to yourself, to dig deep, and be honest. Do a little research about what it would take to get there. Put these things on your to do list. Break down these steps so that they are achievable. Mark each one off as you accomplish them. Change happens incrementally. Persistence turns change into transformation.

The whole idea of security is a bit elusive. Somewhere a long the way, we came to believe that we need security. Security is good, to be without it is bad. Maybe, maybe not. Looked at from another way, we could say there is nothing wrong with feeling insecure. When we put our selves in challenging situations, we set up a foundation for us to reach another level of fulfillment. Once we move past the feeling of insecurity it gives way to a feeling of contentment. So, do not beat yourself up if you are feeling insecure.

Wake up to this new way of thinking: imagine your feeling of insecurity as a gift. Accept it, open it up, and examine it. Once you understand what you are holding, you can let it go.

Choices We Make In Life
We Know More About What We Dont

Reset Your Goals

Have you ever set goals for something you really wanted to accomplish and then fallen short? Well, probably if the answer to the first part of that question is "yes," then the answer to the second part of the question is "yes." Falling short of the goal (notice I did not say failing!) is a normal part of the process! The question is: "Then what?"

First, you have to decide whether the goal is still important to you. Face it, things change. Sometimes we set a goal and gradually drift away from doing the work necessary to achieve it because we have lost interest in the goal. Something more important has come up in our life, or we find that the goal isn't really worth the cost (effort, concentration, etc.) that is required to achieve it. So, reexamine the goal.

Now, assuming the goal is still important to you, reset the goal! This is important. Don't just leave the old goal out there and say "Well, it's still my goal, I'll reach it sometime." Instead, go through the same process you did when you originally set the goal.

Let me give you an example from my own life. Last year I had set a weight-loss goal. My goal was to lose 45 pounds in about 8-1/2 months because my wife and I were going to go on our first cruise. We wanted to lose weight to look better for the cruise, so that gave us good motivation. I had another motivator. I had a couple pieces of really fine clothes that I had never been able to wear on a regular basis because...you know why! The clothes would fit really well after I had lost 25 pounds.

I could see myself in those clothes because they were real, and I could easily visualize it. I lost 25 pounds in about five months and another five pounds in the month after that. Then I stalled. I kept the weight off (until after the cruise), but I didn't lose any more. Even after the cruise I maintained my 25 pound loss.

Now, think about it...that is not a BAD thing! I lost 25 pounds and after 14 months from the start of that diet I'm still down 25 pounds. But, I want to lose another 20 pounds. So, I didn't really fail, but I haven't reached the goal.

What to do? Find new motivation (obviously, just wanting to lose it isn't enough!) and reset the goal. Just remembering that I haven't finished is not enough; I need a new, revitalized goal, one I can achieve.

My motivation came last week with the announcement that my high school class (of '63) has another reunion planned for this summer. There's the new motivation; now I've reset the goal. I have the goal weight identified, I have a definite target date for accomplishing the goal, and I know the method I will use to accomplish it.

Let me summarize what I did to reset the goal:

  1. I recognized the fact that I had not reached the original goal.
  2. I decided that the goal is something I really want to accomplish.
  3. I examined the reasons for having fallen short.
  4. I found a way to correct those reasons.
  5. I reset the goal with a new date, a new motivator, and a plan of action.

The key is to set a new goal; don't just remember the old one. Concentrating on the old, missed goal is a negative and will not motivate you to succeed. Setting a new goal with a revitalized plan of action that you can believe in is a positive motivation...and you WILL succeed!

SMARTER Goal Setting - A Key to Making It Great!

In the past, I've written about SMART goal setting, but after much reading and thought, I realize now that goals need to be SMARTER in order to be most successful.

SMARTER goals, broken down:

S - Goals must be Specific and the more specific the better. State your goal in as exact of terms as possible.

M - Targets should be Measurable. That which you measure will be treasured, so think about what will be the measurement of your achievement of your goal.

A - Goals should have Accountability. Who or what are you accountable to for the goal?

R - Goals must be Realistic. Unrealistic goals will lead to discouragement.

T - Targets should be Time based. Decide your time-table for completion, and stick to it.

E - Goals should be Exciting. Exciting goals will be met far sooner than boring, bland goals.

R - Goals should be Recorded, in a place where you can look at it every day.

OK, so let's break down one of my goals for 2006, and see how this works in action.

I will earn by Competent Toast Master (CTM) designation by December 1st, 2006.

Specific - Yes, this is very specific. It says exactly what I am going to do.

Measurable - Yes, this is measurable. CTM designation is something that takes 10 speeches to do in Toastmasters, so if I do these 10 speeches, this goal will be achieved.

Accountability - I'm sharing it with you, so I'm accountable to all of you. I'm also including this in my goals at work, as public speaking is part of what I do, and letting my Toastmasters Mentor know about my goal (I'm sending him this post), so I am accountable to many others.

Realistic - This is absolutely a realistic goal for me. I have given 2 speeches in 2005, so I have to increase my output 4 times. I can do this, but it will take effort.

Exciting - Definitely an exciting goal for me to achieve. As a new Toastmaster, I will be able to improve my speaking ability by doing this, and it will also help our club achieve more distinguished status.

Recorded - I wrote it down here, I'll be putting it on a note card with my other goals, it will be in my HR system at work, and I'll review it every day to remind myself of its importance.

Success Through Inspiration - Reading One Book

Could one book, read by one person change the world. One book written by Henry David Thoreau called "Walden", changed the lives of people in India and the United States of America. These people were treated like second-class citizens and soon were inspired to change because of one person gave them hope that they could.

This man died when he was 46 years old and I wouldn't consider him a world of success at that time but he did live his life, the way he wanted to live it, for the most part. He has inspired great people like Gandhi and Martin Luther King. He had no idea, at the time he was writing the book, the impact "Walden" would have on the world.

He wrote his book on daily experiences that he had living in a cabin for just a little over two years. Two years of his life and he created this wonderful masterpiece. It's amazing how the few hours a day, for a couple of years could create something that would inspire others to become great leaders and provide the world with inspiration.

People for years have been inspiring others to change their lives. If I had to make a list of all the people who had inspired me, it would be pretty long. There are a few books, movies, documentaries and individuals who have inspired me more than others. I'm sure you have lists of people that you look up to also. Changing the world to make it a better place will take individuals who are inspired by others, educated by others and helped by others to become who they are today.

Henry David Thoreau has inspired other people, and was also inspired by others. Never underestimate the success that you can be created through inspiration. Continue to receive your inspiration from great people and provide inspiration for those who need it greatly.

Believing in God Doesn't Make You Right - Compassion and Love

I was talking to a Muslim man who lives in another country through e-mail and we have been having a very pleasant conversation about why we believe, what we believe. This man seems very caring and someone I can actually have a educated conversation with. Some people that believe in their religion so strongly, are hard to communicate with and often start yelling and screaming at me. These conversations and very abruptly and sometimes painfully.

If believing in God makes you right and everything in your religious texts is true, then the least you could do is back it up with some factual information. Factual information is the key to proving any theory or belief. In a court of law, you have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt,... but if my life's at stake here, this really doesn't apply. I won't bet my life on reasonable doubt, but only hard scientific facts and sometimes this doesn't even apply.

Sometimes scientific facts can be proven wrong over time.

Let's say for an instance, that we take the Bible into a court of law and are going to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that one verse is true from this book. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Now that we have our Bible verse, let's just say for the record, that our hypothetical court case was proven to be true, beyond a reasonable doubt. In other words this is now a factual statement.

Just because it's a factual statement based on something that was proven beyond a reasonable doubt doesn't really make it a truth. When someone tells you, for example your parents or a teacher, that something is true (factual information) and you start spreading this rumor as a truth, because you believe these people, without any evidence for factual information, you're spreading a rumor. If these rumors were to be spread for about 2000 years, we come up with a factual belief not a scientific fact.

Nobody wants to hear that their religious text don't make sense to an open-minded person, even beyond a reasonable doubt. The belief that God created the earth isn't a fact, but if enough people say it is, then in their minds it becomes a truth. This doesn't make them right but often makes them feel comfortable.

Simple Words Create Powerful Beliefs - Just How Harmful Can Some Words Be?

Could you imagine someone telling you that if you don't do something, you're going to suffer a horrible punishment and possibly death, because you chose to ignore their message. Can simple words create powerful beliefs, isn't this what some religious doctorines create? Even the media does it, think about it the next time you turn your television on or read the newspaper.

You seem to believe something because someone told you that's how it is and when you go to question them, they simply repeat the simple statement, that's how is. It's hard to imagine a few words, articulated almost perfectly can create an overwhelming emotion in someone.

The Germans used propaganda to create fear with a few of these words. It's not just a few of these words, there's more power behind these words if their repeated often. These words can build up someone's hopes and dreams or tear them apart.

Is there a quote that you're fond of? You probably memorized it and it has some sort of significance or creates a certain feeling when mentioned. Quotes are organized words that create powerful beliefs in some people.

If I mention the words," I have a dream" you probably think of Martin Luther King. These four words meant a lot to people that were struggling for their freedom, not only in America but around the world. These words are a example of powerful words that have created a wonderful feeling.

When these powerful words create fear you know it. If you watch the news, night after night and they keep telling you how bad the economy is, it doesn't take long before you believe it. You tighten up your budget and stop spending money, because you are now fearful and don't want to lose what you have. When everyone starts holding onto their money, the economy actually does become worse over time.

Can simple words create powerful beliefs? Yes obviously they can and they do, so be careful when listening to words that create fear and try not to spread this fear around to others. Fear can be turned into relief if the right words are used, I would suggest using happy words to create a happy world. Have a nice day.

Saying You're Sorry Without Action - Time Wasting Self-Improvement

How many times a day do you hear the words I'm sorry? I use the words whenever I feel like I have done something harmful to another person.

I know people that would never even think of apologizing to someone, because it shows a sign of weakness. I don't believe in this, but at the same time, I often tire from listening to the same person saying that they are sorry 30 times a day.

It's these people I'm talking about when I mention, "Saying You're Sorry without Action". I can think of a couple of people in my life that use the word sorry as a poor excuse for their daily activities that seemed to create a repetitive lifestyle of problems.

To me the word sorry becomes meaningless, it used too much by the same person. When this becomes a problem with me, I often make a suggestion to the other person, to quit using the word sorry and start showing me some effort, by changing their life. Changing the way they do things would eliminate the need to say you're sorry, constantly.

If somebody was sincerely sorry, would it continue to happen two, three or four times in the same day. Does this become a habit that they can't seem to break? Do they do it for attention? Is this something that people do for sympathy? I can't really figure it out. Are you lacking the motivation to start solving your own problems or do you need a little help from someone.

Think about it, the next time you say you're sorry to someone. Are you sincerely sorry or is it like flushing the toilet, something you do as a response to something that has came out a you. Be a little more careful with what words you use on a daily basis.

Pride Can Often Create Problems in Religion

Have you ever talked to someone about their religious beliefs, only to find out that they are very stubborn, they only want to talk about their beliefs and do not want to listen to your opinion at all. I have met plenty of people that fall into this category and rarely do I run into someone with an open mind about their religious beliefs. These people often try to make you feel stupid and don't realize, that they are the ones who are actually ignorant.

Pride can often create problems in religion and only later when you see the truth can you really understand how stubborn you were. The problem with these people, is that once they find the truth, it's another lie and they seem to push these beliefs on to others. Often these people can be very aggressive and it almost seems like they need to make up for lost time, since they were wrong about their last religion.

Psalm 10:4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

It seems like pride has often got man into trouble and rarely gotten him out of it. Pride can often start wars but only after defeat or education can they be ended. While some people go around town shoving religion down your throat in the name of God, others are ignoring the information completely. The problems in religion resulting from someone's pride have created too many problems throughout history and need to be stopped. Turn your prideful thinking into a compassionate mind.

The next time you meet someone on the street or in a store and they look different or have different beliefs, humble yourself and be kind to them. Show a little compassion instead of pride. Maybe, just maybe you could even make friends with these people and learn something about their beliefs. Often you will find that their religious beliefs are not that much different than yours and this could get you thinking and rethinking about your religion.

What's Jesus's Real Name - Christian Thought

I've been studying Christianity for over 30 years now and would really like to know what his real name actually is. What was Jesus's real name? In the new International Version Bible it states.

This is from the book Matthew in the New Testament.

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" which means, "God with us."

24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Jesus has always made sense to me, because I was raised speaking the English language. It wasn't until I was in my teens that I first heard some one tell me about Yahweh and that's pronounced (YAH-WAY) . Now I had a hard enough time, the first time I seen Jesus's name on one of the payroll sheets at work. I couldn't believe my eyes, Jesus was working with us, and I wanted to meet him. Lots of luck, come to find out he was a very busy person.

Later on I found out that Jesus is a popular Spanish name and is pronounced (hey zoos), and that's who was working with me. Now again this isn't the only name for Jesus. How about: God, Lord, Word, Messiah, Alpha and Omega, Redeemer, Savior, Lamb of God, Light of the World, Ruler of Creation, Immanuel , King of the Jews and Rabbi.

Another program I watched, said that Jesus's name was Joshua and was pronounced Yeho-shua . I guess Yeho-shua is the closest I have came to his actual Christian name that might have been given by his mother Mary and father Joseph. Oh wait a minute, there weren't Christians back then so this would have been his actual Jewish name.

Well that's the best I could do, good luck on your search for Jesus's real name. Have fun.

Pursuing God at Whose Expense - End of the World Believers

I know a husband and a wife who have been pursuing God with an unbelievable passion, but at the same time they're destroying their family and lifetime friendships. These people can no longer be reasoned with and will only send us information about the end of the world or their passionate religious beliefs. You're probably wondering if there are Hindus or Muslims, maybe they're Hare Krishna's or Buddhists, wrong they are hard-core fundamentalist Christians who don't understand fundamentalism.

Vince Lombardi, the legendary coach for the Green Bay Packers, told his football players, that he was going to start with the fundamentals of football and as he began to hold up a football, he simply made the statement "This Is a Football". I often think of that when having one-sided conversations with extreme religious fanatics. With Christians, I often feel like holding up the Bible and telling them "Let's Start with the Fundamentals, This Is the Holy Bible."

Do you think you would know if you are pursuing God at the expense of your family? How would you know the difference, if you're being supported by people within your religion. These people are constantly telling you, the things that you want to hear. That you're right and others are wrong, don't listen to the wicked or you will become one of them, or the infamous statement of conversion, we must do what we can, when we can to show others the way.

Here's where the problem starts to become a nightmare. These people can't tell the difference between belief and truth anymore. People can be made to believe, anything they choose to believe in. These people are great examples of the last statement. I still am in contact with this family but have watched the destruction from a distance. The children are no longer with the parents and are in foster care, part of the problem is their religious beliefs. A few days ago, we received a video in the mail on the end times. I couldn't make much sense out of this video and like some other Christian videos that I have seen, yet creates fear and biblical prophecy from ordinary daily events.

You can look back through history and the end of the world has been just around the corner for almost 2500 years. People have been preaching the doom and gloom for centuries. I pulled a verse out of the Bible and if you could make sense out of it, I would love to hear how.

Daniel 12:1 The End Times 1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered.

It looks like we will know when it's coming, because it states that nothing like it has happened yet. When I read this statement, it doesn't make crystal clear sense and is quite vague. Maybe I'll write another article on how many ways this one verse can be interpreted.

30 Days to Creating Super Habits

Creating super habits are easier than you could ever imagine. Most people have something they would like to change in their lives. If you ask anyone, they are usually able to answer this question, "If you could change anything about yourself, what would you change." All the self help and personal development programs and Books available today are full of useful information that nobody seems to take advantage of. You've seen the TV commercials and listen to other people tell their stories, about how they lost weight.

Are you one of those skeptics that find these stories hard to believe. Do you think it's possible to create a life changing habit within 30 days? If you don't think it's possible, have you ever tried to change something about yourself you don't like.

If you haven't tried, how do you know it's impossible. If you have tried to create change in your life, did you quit, did you quit shortly after you started. This is often what most people do. They either quit before they start and never even get started, or they quit within a short period of time after they started. Usually these people have an excuse, most of the time their excuse is quite simply, it was harder than I thought.

Creating super habits in 30 days is possible and you don't have to be an over achiever to accomplish this goal. Creating these habits will require some effort on your part but the rewards most of the time are worth the effort.

I challenge you to change something about yourself you don't like within the next 30 days.
